engagement party recap!

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!  Mine was fabulous.  Despite missing Mom (of course), it was truly the best Thanksgiving I have had in years.  Maybe it's partially because I am more appreciative of what I have this year.

The engagement party was a success!  I loved the place-- it was very nice and decorated for the holidays.  It was so nice to see everyone and to celebrate our engagement with the important people in our lives.  Here are some pictures.  Enjoy!

thanks

Between getting ready to go home and thinking about the Holidays, today has been a little emotional.  To bring myself back to center a bit I'm going to list 5 things about my life that make me feel very thankful.

1. To have two fantastic families to go home to- mine and R's.

2. Friends that love me unconditionally.

3. My dog, who makes me laugh every single day.

4. Yummy food all weekend.

5. Of course, R, my rock.

Have a good day!

I'm going home TONIGHT!

Hey everyone!

I am FINALLY going home tonight, for the first time since AUGUST! ugh, so long!  Well, technically I won't be getting home until tomorrow afternoon, because we are driving to Richmond, staying over night at my Nanny's house and then driving the rest of the way tomorrow morning.  We will also be picking up my sister and her boyfriend on the way.  I am SO excited.

We have many great things planned for the weekend, such as:

-Dinner at my favorite restaurant in my college town (20 mins from home) as an early bday present from my sister with R and her boyfriend
-Thanksgiving dinner--made potluck for the first time by me, my sister, my dad and my grandma!
-Our ENGAGEMENT PARTY!!!!
-Wedding dress shopping with my sister, grandma, R's mom and sister-in-law!

I am so pumped :)

I'll leave you with a picture of my sister and I from the holidays last year (i think it was last year...?) of us being silly.  Enjoy!

the start of our chrismukkah decorations

Happy weekend, everyone!

In the past few days R and I have put up our first holiday decorations.  Last year we were so consumed by 1L craziness that we didn't think about putting up decorations until finals, and by then we were too busy.  I vowed that this year I would get on it early so that we would be able to have a taste of the holidays throughout the end of the semester.

First, we put up two 3 1/2 ft. pre-lit fake Christmas trees on either side of our fireplace.  We found these at Target for about $30.  Great deal!  I figure that once we move into a bigger place and get a big tree, these will be perfect for either side of our front door.  We decorated them with blue and silver ornaments to bring in that Hanukkah influence :) I think they look great!

Then, today we put out the silver Hanukiah I bought on sale after the holidays last year.  We have the first candles already in it, ready to be lit on the 11th!  I think it looks very cute.

How are you decorating for the holidays?

engagement party outfit- hair help?

Hey there!

As I've been mentioning (a lot), R and my engagement party is next Friday.  I am SO excited!  It will be fantastic to celebrate with our friends and family from home.  I am wearing this dress and shoes:

Dress-- J Crew

Shoes--Nine West

Now-- I need some help from you all.  I can't decide whether I should wear my hair down and straight, like I normally do (boring, but easy), down and curled with hot rollers, or half-up half-down and curled with hot rollers--like the following pictures:
soft, big curls
half-up half-down and curled a bit like last year's law prom (I'm on the left)

What do you think??

WIN!

It's a rare, rare day in law school, friends, when you accomplish your to do list.

Today, I did just that.  I set a lofty goal for myself-- get through HALF of an outline for con law.  I quickly did my Bus Orgs hw after class and then got to work.  First I worked at Starbucks with A, then tonight I went to school to bang the rest out.  By 9:30... I had met my goal!

I am so tired but satisfied that I got something done today :)

WIN!

xoxo
